How Prop Firm Base works

Prop Firm Base compares futures proprietary trading firms on the things that actually matter - rules, costs, and whether they pay. Here's how the site is built, where the data comes from, and how we keep ourselves honest.

We list every firm, not just the ones that pay us

Most “best prop firm” lists are affiliate pages dressed up as reviews - the firms that pay the most show up first, and the rest disappear. We don’t work that way. We list firms because traders use them, not because they have a deal with us. A firm with no affiliate relationship can still rank above one that does, and a firm we earn from can still carry a low score and a list of documented drawbacks.

How we verify data

Firm marketing and firm reality aren’t always the same thing, so we check. For every firm we cover, we:

  • Open and test accounts - we run evaluations and funded accounts so payout timelines, platform behaviour and rule enforcement are observed, not assumed.
  • Track payouts - we collect dated proof of withdrawals to confirm a firm pays on the terms it advertises.
  • Log rule changes - when a firm changes its drawdown, consistency rules, fees or payout terms, we update the affected page.
  • Stamp a verified date - each firm record carries a data-verified date so you can see how fresh the figures are.

The full detail of our sources and checks lives in our data & methodology.

How rankings work

A firm’s rating is built from three things: real trader reviews, verified payout proof, and how complete and current our data on the firm is. We weight proven payout behaviour heavily, because the most generous rule set in the world means nothing if a firm doesn’t actually pay. Ratings are consistent editorial judgments, formed the same way for every firm.

Rankings are never for sale.A firm cannot pay to rank higher, bury a low score, or hide a rule it would rather you didn’t see.

How we make money

When you sign up with some firms through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission - at no extra cost to you. That commission funds the testing, the data work, and the site itself. It does not decide the order firms appear in or the scores they get. We say so on every page where it applies; the full breakdown is in our affiliate disclosure.

That’s the whole model: list everyone, verify the data, rate it consistently, and be upfront about the money. When you’re ready, put the firms side by side and browse every firm we cover to find the one that fits how you trade.
